The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will hold another protest in Mumbai today. The protest is scheduled for 4 pm at Shivaji Park in Dadar. Police have put a heavy security arrangement in place at the park.

According to the information available, a symbolic farewell ceremony for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar will be held at Shivaji Park today. The protesters will symbolically bid him farewell. The police arrangements at Shivaji Park are in connection with this.

Police have taken a tough stand this time. Large police vans for carrying detainees have been brought to Shivaji Park. An agitation was also held at Shivaji Park on October 2, and police arrangements had been made for the protesters then as well.

The issue kept the city on edge yesterday too. CJP protests were seen in Mumbai as well as Delhi yesterday, demanding the resignation of Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Protesters were detained during yesterday's protests. In Mumbai, several agitators were rounded up near August Kranti Maidan.

Those detained included Bollywood actor Imran Khan and Tushar Gandhi, great-grandson of Mahatma Gandhi. Both were taken into custody during the protest. Tension had run high at the time.

Protests are being held at different places demanding Gyanesh Kumar's resignation. The agitation appeared to gather pace in Delhi yesterday. Now a protest is due at Shivaji Park today, and police have been deployed at Dadar's Shivaji Park.

It is being said that the situation that followed yesterday's round-up of agitators could repeat itself today. All eyes will therefore be on the protest at 4 pm today and on the police preparations at Shivaji Park.
