Since Ganeshotsav is under way, she said the public health department has launched the 'Shri Ganesha Arogyacha' initiative, and appealed to citizens to take advantage of it and get regular health check-ups done.

Lokhande said sickle cell and anaemia screening is very necessary in the Jivati area. She said citizens should get regular check-ups done and take medicines only on doctors' advice. She made clear that pregnant women should regularly take the iron tablets provided by the health department and should not discontinue medicines started by doctors on their own. She also said that in case of any health problem, people should immediately contact the nearest primary health sub-centre or primary health centre. She said it is important for children to be vaccinated as per the fixed schedule from birth up to five years, and that parents should not miss any vaccination.

The programme also provided information on registration of pregnant women, regular check-ups, medication, counselling and guidance, home visits for high-risk pregnant women, check-ups during vaccination sessions, and deliveries conducted at hospitals. Villagers were also told about regular vaccination of children, height and weight measurement to identify severe acute malnutrition (SAM) and moderate acute malnutrition (MAM), check-ups of students in zilla parishad and ashram schools, measures under the 'Anaemia-Free India' initiative, sickle cell screening, and screening for non-communicable diseases (NCD).

It was announced that eligible beneficiaries under the Ayushman Bharat scheme get health cover for treatment as per fixed criteria, and eligible citizens were urged to submit documents to get an Ayushman card made, and also to get an ABHA card to avail digital health facilities. Information was also given on the Janani Suraksha Yojana, free health services available under the Janani Shishu Suraksha programme, the Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana, the wage-loss benefit, and maternity-related schemes for tribal mothers.
