Hair falling out? Make this DIY coconut oil hair mask at home
A simple three-ingredient DIY hair oil using coconut oil, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves that can help reduce hair fall and dandruff
Constantly changing weather has a direct impact on hair health. A frequently changing hair care routine, work stress and overuse of chemical products worsen the quality of hair further. This makes it essential to follow the right hair care regimen. When complaints of hair fall, dandruff and scalp infections begin, many women try various remedies. But repeated chemical treatments used for this often leave hair even drier and duller.
As a solution, using an oil made from home ingredients proves beneficial. Applying such an oil regularly improves hair quality and helps hair become thicker and stronger. Here is how to prepare this oil at home and how to use it.
Only three ingredients are needed to make this oil: coconut oil, fenugreek seeds and curry leaves. All these ingredients are easily available at home, so making this oil is not difficult. First, take coconut oil in a pot and heat it. Once the oil is hot, add fenugreek seeds and a handful of curry leaves and let it cook properly on low flame. Turn off the gas once the colour of the curry leaves changes completely. Once the oil turns lukewarm, strain it. This is how the ayurvedic oil is prepared.
This prepared oil should be applied once or twice a week from root to tip and massaged gently. The massage helps improve blood circulation in the hair roots. Apply this oil a day before shampooing and massage gently for five minutes, then tie the hair in a braid and sleep, and wash the hair clean with shampoo the next morning. Applying oil this way ensures it reaches the hair roots properly.
Oil prepared this way stays good for two to three weeks, so there is no need to rush to use it up once made. Fenugreek seeds are beneficial for deeply nourishing hair roots. The nutrients in them reduce scalp infections and help keep the scalp clean. Curry leaves are useful not just for cooking but for hair as well. The antioxidants present in them help retain the natural black colour of hair and also help new hair grow.
