The electric two-wheeler market is showing a new trend every month, and export figures now reveal a surprising shift. Data for the first five months of FY27, April to August 2026, shows that a small company, Greaves Electric, has outpaced larger brands such as TVS, Hero, Bajaj and Ather in year-on-year export growth.

In these five months, Greaves Electric exported 169 vehicles, compared with just 2 vehicles in the same period last year, a growth of 8,350 percent.

In second place is Hero MotoCorp's Vida. Hero exported just 3 vehicles last year, and this time the figure has reached 135 vehicles, a growth of 4,400 percent.

In third place is Bajaj Auto. Bajaj exported 4,818 vehicles, compared with 210 last year, a growth of 2,194 percent.

In fourth place is Ather Energy. Ather shipped 3,573 vehicles, compared with 742 last year, a growth of 382 percent.

In fifth place is TVS Motor. TVS actually exported the most vehicles of all, 6,702 in total, compared with 1,850 last year. But in terms of growth percentage, this is only 262 percent.

This shows that while larger companies are selling more vehicles in absolute terms, smaller companies are growing at a much faster pace.

It is not just overseas markets. Greaves Electric Mobility, or GEM, has also crossed a major milestone within the country. By June 2026, the company had sold 3 lakh electric scooters. This figure is from the Vahan portal and includes numbers for both the Greaves and Ampere brands. From May 2019 to June 17, 2026, the company sold a total of 3,00,293 vehicles in all. Notably, the last 50,000 of these were sold in just 8 months.

Sales have picked up sharply since March 2026 as more people turn to electric scooters. It is not just the big companies; smaller companies are also rising fast, and in exports they have changed the game altogether. These figures could change further by the end of FY27, but for now Greaves has outpaced everyone.
