Gondia's 84-year-old Munnalal Yadav finishes Delhi Half Marathon in 2 hours 38 minutes

Gondia, 25th: Munnalal Yadav, a well-known runner from Gondia, is still competing at the age of 84. People in the district know him as "Milkha Singh". By running in the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon in New Delhi recently, he showed once again that age is only a number.

The half marathon was 21.097 km long, and Yadav completed it in just 2 hours 38 minutes. Thousands of runners from India and abroad took part. Among them, he finished 25th in his age category. The result has brought national recognition to Gondia district.

According to him, "Age is only a number, and if the resolve is strong, no obstacle can stop one from reaching the destination." He has proved this repeatedly through his running.

His record in sport has been impressive. Before Delhi, he had returned only a few days earlier after winning a race at Mount Abu. Before that, he won gold medals at events in Dubai and Malaysia, bringing honour to the country. He also finished fourth at the Asian Games held in Chennai. His passion for running at 84 and his steady hard work are an example for young people.

After this success, Yadav also had a message for the country's youth. He said, "The youth of the country must practise continuously and work hard to make India proud in the world of sport and to fly the tricolour on the global stage."
