Garage owner beaten with iron pipe after seeking Rs 94,000 loan back; three booked
Three men have been booked in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar for allegedly attacking a garage owner who asked for the return of money he had lent one of them.
A complaint has been filed with the police in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar alleging that three men brutally beat a garage owner with an iron pipe for asking for a hand loan to be returned. The complaint says he was called over on the pretext of being repaid and then attacked. The incident is said to have taken place around midnight on November 1 in front of Pushpa Garden on Chikalthana Road, and has caused a stir in the area.
A case has been registered against the three at MIDC CIDCO police station. They are Sohel Salman Khan (32, resident of Katkat Gate), Sajid Shaikh (30, resident of Motiwala Colony, Chikalthana) and Sultan Shaikh (40, resident of Jinsi).
The complaint was filed by Aarif Khursi Mansuri (28, resident of Cambridge Chowk). According to the complaint, Mansuri runs a car repair garage at Sawangi bypass. About two and a half months ago he lent Rs 1 lakh to Sohel Salman Khan. Sohel returned Rs 6,000 but was evading payment of the remaining Rs 94,000, the complaint says.
Aarif's repeated demands for the money had led to an argument between the two. Then, at about 8.30 pm on November 1, Sohel phoned Aarif and told him to come at midnight on November 2 to the front of the Radhe-Radhe tea stall on Jalna Road, where he would pay. Aarif reached the spot around midnight, and when Sohel did not arrive, waited for him.
According to the complaint, Sohel Khan arrived at 12.30 am with Sajid Shaikh and Sultan Shaikh. The three abused Aarif. Saying "What money are you talking about?", they beat him with an iron pipe, the complaint states. In the attack Aarif suffered a bleeding wound on the shin of his left leg, and was also hurt on the eye and left shoulder.
After the beating, as Aarif was leaving, the three caught up with him again in front of Pushpa Garden, beat him once more and fled, the complaint adds.
A case has been registered at MIDC CIDCO police station, and Havaldar Sahab Khan Pathan is investigating. Whether the three have been arrested is not known.
