Videos of Ganpati decorations keep surfacing every year, but a fresh one from Telangana is being discussed for a different reason. It shows a Ganesh idol decorated with garlands and a crown made of currency notes, with the idol and the entire pandal covered in money.

According to reports, this unusual decoration was done in Bapuji Nagar in Telangana. It is claimed that around 2.90 crore rupees worth of notes were used. The claim is that all these notes were collected as donations from banks, traders and devotees.

The money decoration was actually done at two places in Telangana. One decoration was done by the Kapu community, who used cash notes worth 1.4 crore rupees. In Palwancha, a Ganesh idol was covered with notes worth 1.5 crore rupees. The video clearly shows that not just the idol but the entire pandal has been decorated with notes.

The decoration is being cited as an example of people's deep faith, but many have also questioned the expense. Talking about poverty in the country, some users said that instead of spending crores on decorating the deity, the money could have been used to feed poor people.

After the video went viral on social media, users have posted mixed reactions in the comments section. One user wrote, "Devotion is a different matter, but so much money should not have been spent this way." Another user wrote, "They never come forward to help the poor, but they are the first to spend lavishly on religious events." Another user commented, "This is exactly why poverty is not reducing in the country."
