A LinkedIn debate on the reality of work took a sudden turn when Naina Ahluwalia, founder and entrepreneur of Glow & Grow, got a special holiday. CREW, the premium travel concierge service from the Swiggy ecosystem, took charge of planning her entire break.
It began with a viral post linked to the discussion on the 70-hour work week. The post described a meeting with Naina, who was sitting in a parked car working on her laptop. She had said that a 70-hour week was nothing unusual for her while running her own company, and was a regular part of her life.
The discussion began when a LinkedIn user shared the experience of meeting an entrepreneur who worked in a parked car. The user asked where the line between dedication to work and burnout is drawn.
Replying to the post, Naina said she was happy at the person's concern and that she would certainly take a break as soon as she found time to plan a holiday. CREW took her at her word and decided to arrange the whole holiday on her behalf. The result was a 70-hour break in Bali.
The familiar figure of 70 hours thus took on a different meaning. The question was: if 70 hours can be spent on work, why can 70 hours not be spent entirely on oneself, on rest and away from work?
CREW, described as India's first Always-On Travel Concierge service, approached Naina and took the initiative to make the break a reality. CREW handled all the planning and every detail of the trip, so that Naina only had to enjoy the holiday.
Naina then shared news of CREW's initiative on social media and also wrote about her experiences on the Bali trip. The matter spread on its own across social media. The debate that began over the pressure of working non-stop gradually turned into a discussion on the need to make time for oneself, and the 70-hour work week became a 70-hour holiday.
Sharing her experience on social media, Naina said: "This is a glimpse of my first 12 hours in Bali. It truly felt like being a queen! Heartfelt thanks to @crew.concierge for their wonderful planning and execution. I still can't believe I am in Bali."
Naina Ahluwalia also said: "I was telling everyone that I would certainly take a break as soon as I found time to plan a holiday. CREW took the entire responsibility of planning off me. They arranged everything for the Bali trip from start to finish. I did not have to run after anything and I could truly disconnect completely from work."
The campaign has so far received more than 15.2 million views and more than 560,000 engagements. The whole campaign has been presented on Instagram through CREW 70hrs and has drawn a big response.
