Force Motors Limited, which describes itself as India's largest van maker and a leading automobile company, has announced an initiative to scrap old and end-of-life vehicles properly and promote recycling. Under it, the company will help its customers connect with authorised vehicle scrapping centres.

For this, Force Motors has partnered with Rozmerta Auto Recycling Private Limited. The initiative will begin in Delhi-NCR and make authorised scrappage easy and transparent for customers. Force Motors said it was reinforcing its commitment under the agreement it has signed with the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways to support the Commercial Vehicle Replacement Scheme.

Under the arrangement, eligible Force Motors customers can use Rozmerta's authorised Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility. The formalities for the vehicle's necessary documents will be completed there. Polluting components in the vehicle will be removed safely, parts will be separated, and reusable material will be collected and recycled. As per the rules, customers will be given an authorised Certificate of Deposit along with all the necessary scrappage documents.

Prasan Firodia, Managing Director of Force Motors Limited, said: "As a responsible vehicle manufacturer, we firmly believe our role is not limited to building and selling vehicles. How a vehicle is disposed of after its useful life ends is equally important. Through this initiative we want to make the authorised disposal route easier for customers. This is another practical step to improve resource efficiency and promote more responsible practices across the vehicle's entire life cycle."

After successful implementation in Delhi-NCR, the company will explore similar partnerships in other parts of the country. The aim is that old vehicles can be disposed of safely across the country and valuable components can be reused.

According to the company, the initiative is for now limited to Delhi-NCR, where customers will get help with authorised scrapping and the necessary paperwork.
