FIR filed against Chandrapur medical agency over fire safety lapses after September 9 blaze

A fire broke out on September 9, 2026, at a medical agency in Raghuvanshi Complex, Chandrapur. Following the incident, an FIR has been registered at Chandrapur City police station alleging that fire safety measures were not followed.

The case has been registered under the Maharashtra Fire Prevention and Life Safety Measures Act, 2006, with Sections 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 36 invoked. It was registered at Chandrapur City police station as FIR No. 0959/2026 on September 24, 2026, about fifteen days after the fire.

The further investigation has been handed to Assistant Sub-Inspector Ganpati Tukaram Wadhai. The probe is continuing. The allegations in the FIR are yet to be proved and are under investigation. No arrest has been reported.
