Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Friday inaugurated the 300-bed flagship hospital of NEWERA Hospitals at Vardhaman Nagar in Nagpur. The inauguration took place on October 23, 2026. It is being seen as a major milestone in the group's expansion and its efforts to strengthen advanced healthcare in central India.

Several dignitaries of Nagpur, members of the medical fraternity and well-known citizens of the city were present at the inauguration.

NEWERA Hospitals began in 2016 as a 50-bed hospital. It has now grown into an integrated healthcare network spread across several locations. The new hospital at Vardhaman Nagar is another step towards bringing accessible, advanced and patient-centred care to people in Nagpur, Vidarbha and central India.

Under one roof, the hospital will offer advanced robotic surgery, next-generation diagnostic imaging, AI-driven patient monitoring and specialised clinical services. The aim is that medical innovation, doctors' experience and compassionate care go together through the patient's entire journey, from diagnosis and treatment to rehabilitation.

A key feature of the new facility is its robotic surgery programme, which includes both single-port and multi-port robotic systems. NEWERA Hospitals has announced that it is bringing India's first single-port surgical robot, as the hospital itself says. Advanced multi-port robotic surgery will also be available.

In single-port robotic surgery, surgeons can perform suitable procedures through a single entry point. It is an advance in minimally invasive surgery. The aim of these systems is to make robot-assisted surgery available to more people in the region.

The hospital also has advanced diagnostic machines. These include a fully digital, AI-enabled 3T MRI, a fully digital, AI-enabled 256-slice CT scanner and Hologic 3D mammography.

The operation theatres and intensive care unit have AI-based monitoring, so that the medical team can keep watch on patients and take considered treatment decisions. Robotic physiotherapy and advanced rehabilitation services are also part of the hospital's plans.

The hospital has also paid attention to the comfort of family members who accompany patients. A home-like environment, good food and comfortable places to stay have been provided for them. This approach shows that NEWERA Hospitals stresses patient safety, treatment suited to each patient and support for families, along with advanced technology.

Speaking at the inauguration, Dr Anand Sancheti, Managing Director and Co-founder of NEWERA Hospitals, said the new facility reflects the institution's continued growth, innovation and commitment to patient well-being. He said, "Every stage of NEWERA Hospitals' journey has been driven by the thought that good healthcare should become more accessible and meaningful for the communities we serve. From our first facility to this 300-bed flagship hospital at Vardhaman Nagar, our journey reflects our continued growth, innovation and commitment to patient well-being.

This hospital is an important step towards bringing advanced medical capability closer to home for patients across central India. Going forward, our focus will remain on combining technology with clinical expertise and compassionate care."

Dr Nilesh Agrawal, Director and Co-founder of NEWERA Hospitals, said the Vardhaman Nagar hospital is an important addition to the clinical capabilities being brought to the region. He said, "With advanced robotic surgical systems, next-generation imaging and specialised medical services, we are expanding the possibilities of treatment available to patients closer to home. Our journey has always been about moving ahead with medical progress, and patient safety, sound clinical judgement and appropriate treatment have remained our highest priorities."

Dr Nidhish Mishra, Director and Co-founder, said the group's continued expansion is meant to strengthen comprehensive healthcare through experienced doctors, advanced diagnostics and timely treatment. He said, "The new facility brings together capabilities that can help in making considered clinical decisions across many specialities, including cardiac care. We want to take the benefits of these advances to more patients in the region."

With the inauguration of the 300-bed flagship hospital at Vardhaman Nagar, NEWERA Hospitals aims to make specialised medical services and advanced treatment technology more available in Nagpur. This will further strengthen the city's role as a healthcare destination for patients from Vidarbha and other parts of central India.
