Fluctuating gold and silver prices have raised investor interest. Against this backdrop, a special programme named 'Gold Mahakumbh 2026' has been scheduled for today, October 19, 2026. It will explain market trends, investment opportunities and possible risks.

The programme will be shown on ET NOW and the Hindi business news channel ET NOW Swadesh, from 4 pm to 7:30 pm. Bullion market experts, financial advisers and big names from the jewellery industry will take part and discuss key issues concerning precious metals.

For Indians, gold is not merely a choice for jewellery. It is regarded as an important asset from both the traditional and the financial point of view. Developments in the global economy, inflation, interest rates and geopolitical conditions can affect gold prices. Against this background, the programme will discuss trends in the gold market and possible future developments.

The short-term, medium-term and long-term trends in gold and silver prices will also be reviewed. The discussion may help investors understand market opportunities and assess risks before investing.

Many investment routes are available today. Buying physical gold and silver, taking exchange traded funds (ETFs) or choosing digital options each require several factors to be weighed. The programme will discuss the differences between these options, costs, liquidity and risk. Investors should not look only at rising prices. They must also consider their financial goals, investment horizon and risk appetite.

The participants will include Chirag Mehta, CIO of Quantum Mutual Fund; Jai Prakash Gupta, founder of Dhan; Shivanshu Mehta, head of bullion at MCX; Kaushalendra Sinha, CEO of IAGES; and Ajay Kedia of Kedia Advisory. Also taking part will be Sachin Jain, regional CEO for India of the World Gold Council; Vikram Dhawan of Nippon India Mutual Fund; Surendra Mehta of IBJA; Saurabh Gadgil, chairman and managing director of PNG Jewellers; and Suvankar Sen, managing director of Senco Gold.

Transparency in the gold market, responsible sourcing of raw material and standards in the jewellery industry will also be discussed. Challenges in the jewellery business, stock management and the use of hedging to guard against price swings are among the topics. The final session will offer guidance on questions from small investors, portfolio management and controlling risk in the commodity market.

Gold Mahakumbh 2026 is organised in association with IAGES, k-nest and PNG. For those considering investing in gold and silver, it could be a chance to hear the views of market experts. However, experts' estimates are not a guarantee of assured profit. Anyone should therefore keep their financial situation and possible risks in mind before taking any decision.
