DRDO's Delhi psychology institute invites ITI holders to apply for 24 apprentice posts

The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) periodically invites applications for apprentice posts. A new notification has now been issued. According to it, the Defence Institute of Psychological Research in Delhi has opened fresh apprenticeship recruitment for ITI pass-outs. Only those holding an ITI certificate can apply. Graduates and diploma holders will not get a chance.

Selected candidates will get one year of practical training and a monthly stipend as per the rules.

There are 24 posts in all. The largest number, 14, are in the COPA trade. There are 2 posts for desktop publishing operator, 2 for secretariat assistant (English/Hindi) and 2 for information and communication technology system maintenance. There is also 1 post for steward and 1 for photographer.

On eligibility, candidates must hold an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from an institute recognised by SCVT or NCVET (NCVT). Before applying, candidates must also be registered on the Central government's apprenticeship portal (apprenticeshipindia.gov.in). Under apprenticeship rules, candidates must be at least 18 years old.

According to DRDO's official notification, applicants will be selected on the basis of an examination or the marks obtained in the relevant trade. Selected candidates will then be called for an interview. The final merit list will be released category-wise. Details of the apprenticeship training will be sent to selected candidates on their official email IDs. After joining, they will also have to submit a character verification certificate from the police.

The stipend is in two tiers. Selected candidates in the steward, desktop publishing operator, secretariat assistant (English/Hindi), multimedia and web page designer, and COPA trades will get Rs 9,600 a month. Candidates in the photographer and information and communication technology system maintenance trades will get Rs 10,560 a month.

Applications are online. Candidates must visit the website www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in and use the code E08260700022. After online registration, they should fill in the form, scan it with all required documents and send it to the email address admindipr.dipr@gov.in.
