Diwali faral: how to make gum and besan ladoo at home

Whether it is Diwali or any other festival, a variety of dishes is always made at home. No special reason is needed to make a sweet. Shankarpali, besan ladoo and chivda are made every year as part of the Diwali faral. This time, here is an easy way to make besan ladoo with edible gum (dink) added.

Gum-besan ladoo made this way taste good and are also very beneficial for the body. The besan roasted in pure ghee, the dry fruits and the flavour of the gum together make the ladoo taste very good.

Not everyone at home likes gum ladoo. So if a little gum is added while making besan ladoo, the taste improves further. The ladoo can be eaten at breakfast, and also at other times when you feel hungry. Rather than making the same set dishes in the faral, it is worth trying something different.

The ingredients needed are besan, gum, cardamom powder, ghee, dry fruits and powdered sugar.

Method: First heat ghee in a pan and fry the gum in it. As soon as the gum puffs up, take it out and set it aside to cool.

Heat ghee again in the same pan and roast a bowl of besan on low heat. The besan has to be roasted until it turns reddish.

Once the fried gum has cooled, crush it fine by hand. Take the roasted besan out onto a plate, add the powdered sugar and mix everything together.

Then add the crushed gum, finely chopped dry fruits and cardamom powder and mix well. Once the mixture is well combined, shape it into ladoo as you like.

The gum-besan ladoo are ready in no time. They can be eaten in the cold season as well.
