The 24th instalment of Rs 2,000 is said to be due on October 30; farmers are advised to check beneficiary status and complete e-KYC before waiting for the money.
There is big news about the 24th instalment for farmers across the country who benefit from the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. It is being claimed that Rs 2,000 will be credited on October 30 to the bank accounts of eligible farmers.
It is also being said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will release the funds from Banaskantha in Gujarat. However, it is necessary to check the official confirmation of the date of the instalment and of the event. Farmers are advised to check their beneficiary status before waiting for the money to arrive.
According to official information from the Central government, funds totalling more than Rs 18,690 crore will be released in the 24th instalment of the PM-Kisan scheme to more than 9.34 crore farmer families. Rs 2,000 will be sent directly to the account of each eligible farmer family through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). The event has been scheduled for October 30 in Banaskantha, Gujarat.
An instalment is often held up because e-KYC is incomplete. A mismatch between Aadhaar and bank account details, or an unfinished verification of land records, can also cause problems. Farmers should therefore check these four things.
First, complete e-KYC, as it is mandatory for the PM-Kisan scheme. Second, make sure the Aadhaar and bank account details are correct. Third, check whether the land verification required under the scheme's rules has been completed. Fourth, check on the official portal whether your name is on the list of eligible beneficiaries and what the payment status is. If any of these is lacking, the money may be delayed, or the instalment may even be withheld until eligibility is verified.
The payment status can be checked online from home. First, open the official PM Kisan website. On the homepage, select the Know Your Status option. Then, as required, enter the registration number and the other details asked for on the screen. Complete the captcha or other verification and submit the details. After that, view the beneficiary's status and the available payment details.
If the registration number is not at hand, it can be found through the relevant option given on the website. Payment information may take some time to update.
Speaking of the scheme, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is a key financial assistance scheme of the Central government. Under it, eligible farmer families receive a total of Rs 6,000 a year. The amount is credited directly to the bank account in three equal instalments of Rs 2,000, usually every four months. Farmers can use the money for seeds, fertiliser and other essential farming expenses. This is why farmers across the country are waiting for the 24th instalment.
The important point is that the official announcement of distributing the instalment on October 30 has been made. However, when the money reaches each beneficiary's account may depend on the bank's process and on the verification of the beneficiary. Farmers should therefore be sure to check their status on the official portal.
