Deulgaon Raja police stopped a Tata Signa tipper carrying six brass of sand without a permit near Saramba Phata and seized goods worth Rs 25.26 lakh.

Deulgaon Raja police have acted against illegal minor mineral excavation and transport. During a checkpoint at Saramba Phata in the Deulgaon Mahi area, police caught a Tata Signa tipper carrying sand without a permit. Goods worth a total of Rs 25.26 lakh, including six brass of sand and the tipper, were seized.

The action took place at around 3 pm on Saturday, October 31. A team from Deulgaon Raja police station was checking vehicles at a roadblock in the Saramba Phata area when the tipper, registration number MH 28 CF 3880, was seen passing in suspicious circumstances. Police stopped and inspected the vehicle and found six brass of sand in it.

Police asked the driver for the royalty receipt and official permit for the sand. The driver has been identified as Yogesh Dadarao Bhusari, 27, a resident of Dorvhi in Sindkhed Raja tehsil, Buldhana district. He himself said he had neither a valid permit nor royalty. It then became clear that the sand was being transported without a permit, and police took immediate action.

Details of the value of the seized goods have also emerged. The six brass of sand is estimated at about Rs 26,000, while the Tata Signa tipper is estimated at about Rs 25 lakh. Together, police seized goods worth Rs 25.26 lakh.

Police Head Constable Vijay Shivaji Darade filed the complaint. On that basis, a case has been registered against the accused, Yogesh Dadarao Bhusari, at Deulgaon Raja police station under crime number 492/2026. He has been booked under Section 303(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and Section 21(1)(2) of the Minor Mineral Act. The case was registered at 6.34 pm on October 31.

On the orders of the station house officer, Sub-Inspector Nitin Mind is conducting further investigation.

Illegal sand transport causes a loss of revenue to the government. The police action has caused alarm among those carrying minor minerals without permits, and it signals that strict action can follow if the required permit and royalty for transporting sand are not in place.
