Deoli police bust roadside gambling den, seize assets worth over Rs 5.7 lakh
Six men were arrested for gambling on a public road in Sonegaon, with cash, phones and several vehicles seized.
Deoli police carried out a major raid on the night of September 18, 2026, catching a group gambling on a public road in Sonegaon (Aabaji). Six accused were arrested, and cash, mobile phones and several vehicles were seized from them.
The first accused, Nakul Anandrao Themaskar, 36, of Nachangaon, was found with Rs 570 and an old Oppo Find X9S phone valued at around Rs 10,000. The second accused, Prakash Krishnaji Mun, 60, of Sonegaon (Aabaji), had Rs 600 on him. The third accused, Pravin Manohar Kindharle, 35, of Nachangaon, had Rs 430 and an old Oppo A5X phone worth about Rs 10,000.
The fourth accused, Nilesh Prakash Mun, 40, of Sonegaon Aabaji, had Rs 800. The fifth accused, Atul Marotrao Puri, 41, of Yashgaon, had Rs 500 in cash and an old Vivo Y31 phone worth about Rs 10,000. The sixth accused, Pravin Mahadev Badiye, 30, of Sonegaon (Aabaji), had Rs 1,200. Police also seized Rs 6,700 in cash that was being used as gambling stakes, along with a deck of 52 playing cards worth Rs 100.
Police seized an old black TVS Raider motorcycle, registration MH 32 AW 1745, chassis number MD625AF90PIL30255, valued at about Rs 80,000, belonging to the fifth accused, from the spot. Vehicles left behind by accused who fled were also seized, including an old TVS Jupiter moped, registration MH 32 BA 6064, engine number BK4AS3800594, worth about Rs 60,000, and an old black-and-white Yamaha Fascino moped, registration MH 32 AM 6020, engine number E3YAE0103733, worth about Rs 70,000.
Also seized were an old black Royal Enfield Hunter 350, registration MH 32 BA 4697, chassis number ME3J3D5FKS1817329, worth about Rs 1,00,000; an old black-white-red-striped Hero Passion Pro, registration MH32AL8478, chassis number MBLHAR185HHM26191, worth about Rs 40,000; a black TVS Jupiter moped with no number plate, engine number EK4GT3013197, worth about Rs 70,000; a black Suzuki Access 125 with no number plate, engine number AF213644043, worth about Rs 70,000; and an old Hero motorcycle, registration MH 32 AG 4075, chassis number MBLHAR077HHC54579, worth about Rs 40,000.
In all, assets worth Rs 5,70,900 were seized before witnesses as per the panchnama. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigation is underway. The action was carried out under the guidance of Superintendent of Police Saurabhkumar Agrawal, Wardha, Additional Superintendent of Police Sadashiv Waghmare, Wardha, and Sub-Divisional Police Officer Vandana Karkhele, Pulgaon sub-division, by Deoli police station house officer Sandeep Kapade, Police Sub-Inspector Shivraj Jadhav, Police Havildar Vinod Kamble, Police Naik Durgesh Bante, Police Constable Sagar Pawar, Police Constable Santosh Gite and Police Constable Nitesh Patil. Further investigation is being conducted by Police Havildar Shyam Gavaner.
