Delhi coach Vijay Dahiya wants Virat Kohli to play in Vijay Hazare Trophy

Discussion has begun on whether Virat Kohli will play for Delhi in the next Vijay Hazare Trophy. Delhi coach Vijay Dahiya has spoken openly on the subject. The trophy begins on December 14.

Kohli and Rohit Sharma took part in the Vijay Hazare Trophy last season. Last year, the BCCI had told all players that senior players should play in the tournament. Several senior players were then seen in the trophy.

Dahiya spoke to reporters after the match between Delhi and Services. He was asked how likely it was that Kohli would play in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Dahiya said, "If Virat Kohli wants to play, I would love to meet him in the dressing room. I will take guidance from him, so that he can tell the other players what it takes to get here. He has come up from this very place."

Dahiya added, "He is available. A player who has played last year is always available. He does not need to be told officially. The way he works is superb. I think he should be part of this team."

Dahiya said that if Kohli is available for the Vijay Hazare Trophy, young players will get a great chance to learn. He said, "He was here last season. I will call him to the dressing room to talk. I will not let him go home. I will ask him to sit in the dressing room and I will explain everything step by step, because he has seen every kind of difficulty. I will be able to tell the players where Virat was earlier and where he is now. There is still a long way to go. You cannot become Virat Kohli, but if you do things the right way, you can become a special player."

A three-match ODI series between India and Sri Lanka will begin on December 13, a day before the Vijay Hazare Trophy. Kohli will be seen playing in it. The last match of the series will be on December 19.

Meanwhile, Delhi will also play three matches against Goa, Punjab and Rajasthan until the 19th. If Kohli plays in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, he will be available for Delhi from the fourth match at the earliest, against Chandigarh on December 21. It will now be important to see what decision Kohli takes on the tournament.
