A complaint has been filed with the Charity Commissioner in Nagpur alleging misappropriation of donations received at Deekshabhoomi in the city. The complaint was filed by a person named Vilas Gajghate.

The complaint raises several serious allegations. The first is that the donation box is not opened in front of everyone. It also alleges that details of the donation amounts received are not disclosed. The complaint further alleges that work for the Dhammachakra Pravartan Din event was allotted without inviting tenders, and that there were irregularities in the purchase of goods. The matter is expected to draw further attention, and what action follows will be closely watched.

Deekshabhoomi is regarded as one of the Panchtirtha sites associated with Babasaheb Ambedkar, and people from India and abroad visit it. Lakhs of followers gather here every year on the occasion of Dhammachakra Pravartan Din. In 1956, Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar took initiation into Buddhism at this very site. Since then, the day of Vijayadashami has been observed at Deekshabhoomi as Dhammachakra Pravartan Din. On this occasion, hundreds of Ambedkarite followers pay homage at the urn containing Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's ashes and follow the tradition of taking initiation into Buddhism. Ambedkarite followers regard Deekshabhoomi as a source of inspiration, which is why lakhs of people gather here from across the country every year.

With Vijayadashami and Dhammachakra Pravartan Din approaching, this complaint alleging misappropriation of donations at Deekshabhoomi has caused a stir.
