The animated character Chhota Bheem, popular among children, will now be seen live on stage. Green Gold Animation and NeemTree Entertainment have jointly produced 'Chhota Bheem: The Musical'. The show will be held on October 17 at the Nehru Centre auditorium in Mumbai.
Three shows of the musical were held last week. Children and their parents both liked them a great deal. The Mumbai show has been announced after that.
The story is about an adventure undertaken by Bheem of Dholakpur and his friends. To rescue Princess Indumati from the clutches of 'Thundazork', Bheem and his friends travel through magical forests, underwater kingdoms, magical islands, deserts and snow-covered mountains. The thrilling moments of this journey, its interesting characters and its spectacular visuals will be the main attractions of the musical.
The production involves 30 performers, a 12-member backstage team and six technical staff. Bhumi Nathwani has handled production, while Amatya Goradia has directed. Shruti Sharma has worked as creative head.
Striking costumes, LED-generated visuals and creative lighting have been used so that audiences get a first-hand experience of the different settings of the story. It is hoped that this will be a different and entertaining experience for the whole family, including children.
Rajiv Chilaka, founder and managing director of Green Gold Animation, said the real strength of a popular character lies in its ability to go beyond its original medium and connect with audiences. According to him, Chhota Bheem's journey began as an animated character, but today it has become an inseparable part of the lives of millions of children and their families.
Tickets for the October 17 show at the Nehru Centre auditorium are available on the online ticketing platform BookMyShow.
