Rotary Club Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar East has donated five bicycles and a handwash station to the Zilla Parishad primary and higher secondary school at Nevpur, to make the journey to school easier for girls in rural areas and to build habits of cleanliness among them. The programme was held on Saturday (the 17th) under the 'Eduride' initiative.

The bicycles were given to enrich the school's bicycle bank. They were distributed by draw of lots among Class 10 students Saru Chikane, Sapteshwari Sase, Komal Murmude, Deepali Thakre and Vaishnavi Chikane. With this, five girls of the Nevpur Zilla Parishad school have received bicycles, and the bicycles and the handwash station have added to the school's physical facilities.

The bicycles are expected to reduce the hardship rural girls face in travelling to and from school and to encourage regular attendance. The handwash station has been provided for hygiene. The aim is to promote the habit of personal cleanliness among students and to raise awareness about health.

Those present at the programme included Rotary Club president Pawan Gutte, past presidents Nivrutti Gajbhare, Pradeep Patel, Satish Bhalshankar and Dinesh Jaiswal, cluster head K. R. Sapkal, school management committee chairperson Ashok Solunke and headmaster Naresh Peddi, along with teachers, parents and villagers.

On the occasion, Rotary Club president Pawan Gutte expressed the intention to provide physical facilities in future as well, keeping in mind the school's needs, and to continue supporting the school. Those present welcomed the Rotary Club's role in helping educational institutions out of social commitment. Shivnath Wadhekar conducted the programme and Hanuman Jadhav proposed the vote of thanks.
