The district administration in Chandrapur has speeded up the process of compassionate appointments under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. At a special function held at the Niyojan Bhavan in the district collector's office, recommendation letters were given to 41 candidates. The letters were handed over by Guardian Minister Dr. Ashok Uike, providing economic support to families going through hardship.

Present on the occasion were Member of Parliament Pratibha Dhanorkar, Legislative Council member Sudhakar Adbale, MLA Kishore Jorgewar, MLA Devrao Bhongle, MLA Karan Deotale, District Collector Vasumna Pant, Chief Executive Officer Pulkit Singh, along with several senior officials of the district administration.

The system of compassionate appointment was set up to help families cope with the financial crisis that arises when a government employee dies while in service. Under this, special efforts were made through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan to complete the necessary administrative procedures in pending cases and recommend eligible candidates for appointment.

Cases of candidates who had been waiting a long time for appointment were followed up, with coordination on documentation, administrative process and concerned departments. These efforts speeded up the appointment process for 41 candidates, and receiving the recommendation letters brought relief to the candidates and their families.

Since the compassionate appointment process matters greatly to the families concerned, the district administration made special plans to dispose of pending cases as per rules and the set procedure. Priority is being given to clearing pending administrative work related to citizens through the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, and this special function was organised as part of that effort.

The entire process was carried out by concerned officials and staff under the supervision of District Collector Vasumna Pant and Resident Deputy Collector Dagdu Kumbhar. Officials and staff of the district collector's office worked continuously for the past month to settle the cases of compassionate appointment candidates. Verification of candidates' cases, completion of required documents, coordination with different departments and distribution of recommendation letters were all completed as planned. Sonali Lande and Suresh Rathod in particular made significant contributions to the compassionate appointment process alongside their regular duties, and were honoured with certificates of appreciation at the function in recognition of this work.

Receiving the recommendation letters has cleared the way for the further process of appointing 41 candidates to government jobs. The process will prove important in providing economic and social support to families facing the situation that follows the death of a government employee who was the family's earning member.
