With the aim of making women financially strong and self-reliant, the women's branch of Chandrapur District Central Cooperative Bank has distributed loans to women's savings groups. This will boost the economic and social progress of women, the bank said.

Under the guidance of bank chairman Ravindra Srinivasrao Shinde, vice-chairman Sanjay Dongre, honorary secretary Aveshkhan Pathan, the entire board of directors, and chief executive officer Rajeshwar Bhi. Kalyankar, the bank organised Sahakar Maharshi Late Adv. Babasaheb Wasade Cooperation Week. The week is being observed from September 19 to 25, 2026, through various programmes.

As part of this, a programme was held on September 22, 2026, by the women's branch of Chandrapur District Central Cooperative Bank at Shastrinagar, Chandrapur. Bank director and chairman of the Rajura divisional loan committee, Ulhasrao Karpe, distributed a loan of Rs 3 lakh to Swastik Mahila Bachat Gat, Shramik Nagar, and Rs 3 lakh to Pragatishil Mahila Bachat Gat, Krishna Nagar, taking the total to Rs 6 lakh.

On the occasion, emphasis was laid on strengthening women financially through savings groups and promoting their businesses. The message given was that women should use the loans properly to become self-reliant, build a source of income and contribute to their families' economic progress.

Those present at the programme were given information about various banking and government schemes, including opening current accounts, deposits, loan schemes, the Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana and the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana. An appeal was made to inform women of the financial schemes available to them so they could benefit from them.

Bank director and Rajura divisional loan committee chairman Ulhasrao Karpe said the bank's effort was not just to give loans to women's savings groups but to give direction to their economic empowerment. He also said that cooperation was strengthening the economic and social progress of women, and that savings groups should make proper use of available schemes to move toward self-reliance.

The programme began with a tribute to Sahakar Maharshi Late Adv. Babasaheb Wasade. Branch officer in charge Asmita Dhanvijay and cashier Mamata Nannaware, along with other bank officials and staff, were present during the loan distribution. The financial assistance received by the women's savings groups is being seen as an important step toward the growth of their businesses and their self-reliance.
