The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has issued an important notification keeping in mind students who will sit the Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in 2027. The board has clearly instructed all its affiliated schools to submit the registration details of Class 9 and Class 11 students, without any errors, by October 21 at any cost.
The board said that even a small lapse in data at the time of registration can later cause major problems in students' admit cards, marksheets and passing certificates. To avoid this, the board has taken strict steps this time.
Mistakes often creep in while filling the form, in the spelling of the student's or parents' names, the date of birth or subject codes. Students and guardians then have to make repeated visits to the board's offices to get these corrected at the time of the examination or after the results. CBSE has made it clear that once the List of Candidates (LOC) and registration data are submitted, changes of any kind will not be easily permitted.
The board has asked principals and examination heads of all schools to pay particular attention to a few points. The first responsibility is verification. School administrations must check the student's name, parents' names and date of birth against the school's official admission register and Aadhaar documents.
Second, the subjects chosen by students and their subject codes should be checked once again before submission. Third, the deadline must be followed. After the October 21 deadline, no fresh data will be accepted on the CBSE portal, or a heavy late fee may be levied for it.
CBSE has also appealed to parents and students. When the school administration calls them to check the details, they should sign only after reading all the information carefully. If they notice any spelling mistake or discrepancy in the date of birth, they should inform the school administration immediately so that the record can be corrected before October 21. The final data will be locked on the CBSE portal only after parents' signatures and verification.
