Police have registered an accidental death case after the body of a woman who left home for work on Friday was found on Saturday morning.

NAGPUR: The body of a 50-year-old woman was found near the Punapur nullah on Saturday morning, causing alarm in the Pardi police station area. The deceased has been identified as Fuleshia Nohar Bharti, who worked at a sawmill.

According to police, Fuleshia left home at about 8 am on Friday to go to work at the sawmill. She did not reach her workplace, and her family did not see her afterwards.

Her relatives are understood to have told police that she had a habit of drinking and sometimes stayed away from home for several days. However, she did not return home after leaving for work this time, and concern grew over her whereabouts.

On Saturday morning her body was found near the Punapur nullah. On receiving information, police from Pardi police station reached the spot promptly and took the body into custody.

Police have registered a case of accidental death. They have also begun an investigation to establish the circumstances behind her death.

Investigating officers are checking where Fuleshia went after leaving home on Friday morning. They are also trying to find out how she reached the area near the nullah. The exact cause of death will be clear only after the post-mortem.

According to police, the circumstances surrounding the woman's death remain unclear at this stage. The investigation and the post-mortem report are expected to show whether she died accidentally or whether there was any other cause. Until then, the cause of death has not been established.

Police are gathering information from people who may have seen Fuleshia after she left home for work, including members of her family.
