Mumbai BJP chief Ameet Satam announced a campaign running to November 10, with a march from Shivaji Park to Kamgar Maidan, and attacked the Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

Mumbai BJP president and MLA Ameet Satam criticised the Congress and Rahul Gandhi at a press conference in Mumbai. He said the BJP would run a campaign titled "Lokshahi Bachao, Arajakta Hatao" (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy).

According to Satam, the country has progressed in the last 12 years under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He alleged that the opposition was spreading false narratives. He also said India's global standing had risen and the country's economy had become stronger under Modi. He noted that India recovered quickly from the Covid crisis.

Speaking about the Congress and Rahul Gandhi, Satam alleged that the opposition was trying to gain political advantage by spreading false narratives. He also claimed that some forces were trying to obstruct India's development. He raised all these points at the press conference.

As part of the campaign, a large padyatra will be held in Mumbai on November 2, from Shivaji Park to Kamgar Maidan. Satam said the march would be peaceful.

Various programmes will be held under the campaign until November 10. He said their aim was to put the BJP's position before the public and to answer the allegations made by the opposition.

Speaking about protests, Satam said everyone had the right to protest in a democracy. However, he said action should be taken if violence occurred in the name of protest or an attempt was made to create division in society. He added that action against those who violate the law was necessary.

Reacting to actor Naseeruddin Shah's remarks, Satam criticised him. He questioned people who show sympathy for anti-India forces.

With the BJP announcing its campaign, and with the criticism of the Congress and the opposition, the political climate in Maharashtra is likely to heat up. Political circles are watching what response the campaign draws from the opposition in the coming days.
