Bhimrao Mude's Marathi web series 'Premayan' to stream on STAGE OTT from October 16

National Award-winning director Bhimrao Mude's new Marathi web series 'Premayan' will stream on STAGE OTT from October 16, 2026. The platform offers Marathi viewers grounded, quality stories. The series revolves around the clash of love, honour and revenge.

Mude has made his mark with a distinct directorial style through the National Award-winning film 'Bardo' and works such as 'Andhar Maya', 'Rudram', 'Daavpech', 'Kaul Manacha' and 'Tarini'. The flavour of rural Maharashtra, the tangles of human relationships and the different facets of emotion have come through effectively in his work. 'Bardo' won the National Award for best Marathi film, and 'Premayan' is being seen as an important milestone in his creative journey.

Mude is the creator of the web series. The story is by Rajesh Pathak (content head, STAGE Marathi), with Mude's concept added to it. The series is produced by Aara Multimedia and directed by Rajesh Waradkar and Vishal Sangale.

'Premayan' is set against the backdrop of rural Maharashtra. It combines caste hierarchies, entanglements of love, battles over honour, power equations and the fire of revenge. Social barriers in the path of love, the struggle for honour and the drama arising from personal conflicts will make the story more engaging.

Mude expressed confidence that a different facet of a relationship and a different story behind every decision will come out openly in 'Premayan'. According to him, the story will not only keep viewers hooked but also make them think.

The cast includes Hardik Joshi, Abhinav Kurane, Pratiksha Pokale, Omprakash Shinde, Umesh Jagtap, Shubhangi Bhujbal, Pallavi Onkar and Vinod Lavhekar in key roles. With a strong cast and a story rooted in the soil of rural Maharashtra, there is anticipation among viewers. It remains to be seen how well this story of the conflict of love, honour, power and revenge is received and what mark it leaves in the world of Marathi web content.
