Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan's new film "Udta Teer" has been released. The film made a slow start, but jumped on its second day. Saturday's earnings rose sharply, and all eyes are now on Sunday's collection.

According to Sacnilk figures, "Udta Teer" earned Rs 7.25 crore on its second day, Saturday, October 24. On the first day, Friday, the film had made only Rs 4.10 crore. Earnings thus rose 76.8 per cent in a single day, a sizeable increase.

In two days the film has earned a total of Rs 11.35 crore in India. Its gross collection in two days stands at Rs 13.53 crore. Worldwide, the film's box office has reached Rs 16.28 crore.

On the first day, people felt the film had flopped, but Saturday's rise has given the makers some relief. It appears that audiences are going to watch the film because of word of mouth.

The film is directed by Aakash A. Kaushik. It is a spy comedy with an unusual story. It features a Pakistani spy who loses his memory and judgment during a mission. He starts to believe that he is an Indian counter-terrorism officer. The film shows the mess that follows.

Ayushmann Khurrana and Sara Ali Khan have come together for the first time. Ayushmann's comic timing is always superb, and Sara has also done good work. Rahul Bose, Ram Kapoor and Gulshan Grover are also in the film.

The film was released on October 23. Reactions on social media have been mixed. Some liked the film a lot, while others have called it a one-time watch, meaning it is worth seeing once.

The real test now comes on Sunday. Saturday's earnings were good, and if Sunday is similar, the film could become a superhit. If Sunday's earnings cross Rs 9 crore to Rs 10 crore, the film will do well through the week.

But there is a big challenge ahead. Rajinikanth's "Jailer 2" is still going strong at the box office. On Saturday, "Jailer 2" earned Rs 24.15 crore. Its total collection in India has reached Rs 373 crore, with a gross of Rs 436.80 crore. Worldwide, it has earned Rs 666.30 crore.

Against such a big film, it is difficult for a smaller film like "Udta Teer" to hold on. Even so, Ayushmann's films have a distinct audience. Those who like comedy and offbeat stories will certainly watch it. How the film fares from Monday to Friday will decide whether it is a hit or a flop.
