Audi starts Indian production of new Q3, to launch October 16 with 204 HP engine
Audi has begun local assembly of the third-generation Q3 in Maharashtra ahead of its October 16, 2026 India launch.
Audi has begun production of the third generation of its popular luxury SUV, the Q3, in India. Local assembly of the new Q3 has started at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra. The SUV will launch in India on October 16, 2026, and bookings are open now. Customers can book the SUV by paying a booking amount of Rs 1 lakh through the official website, the myAudi Connect app, or an authorised Audi dealership.
On the powertrain front, the Indian model will get a 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine producing around 204 hp and 320 Nm of torque. This power is sent through a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox to Audi's Quattro all-wheel-drive system, with the aim of delivering a strong driving experience both in the city and on long journeys.
The new Q3 also looks quite different from before. It gets a redesigned larger single-frame grille, along with slim LED headlamps, sharp bonnet lines and raised body contours that give the SUV a more modern look. The matrix LED headlamps feature micro-LED modules, and each daytime running light has 23 segments. At the rear, there is a full-width lighting element, while some variants offer digital OLED taillamps and illuminated Audi rings as an option.
The cabin has also seen significant changes. The gear selector has been moved from the centre console to the steering column this time, freeing up more storage space between the front seats. The rear seat can slide forward and back, and the angle of its backrest can also be adjusted. Boot space stands at 488 litres, which increases to 1,386 litres with the rear seat folded down.
Safety and parking features have also been upgraded. The Audi Q3 gets an interior camera to detect driver fatigue and distraction. New functions have been added to adaptive cruise control and lane assist as well. Notably, the parking system can remember complex manoeuvres and repeat them automatically, making it easier to handle the SUV in tight parking spaces.
