Selected students will work on about 43 real Army projects in AI, cyber security, robotics and drones during a 75-day internship under the Indian Army Internship Programme 2026-27.

Students who want to learn how modern technology is used for national security can apply for the Indian Army Internship Programme 2026-27, the second edition of the programme. Selected students will work on real Army projects in areas such as artificial intelligence (AI), cyber security, robotics, drones and data analysis.

The programme includes about 43 different projects linked to technology, research and logistics. These cover AI, machine learning, quantum computing, 5G/6G technology and space technology, along with fintech and hospitality systems.

The internship will last 75 days in all, with 60 days of office or field training and the remaining 15 days of work from home.

On successful completion of the internship, students can be paid a stipend of up to Rs 75,000. The amount may differ from project to project. A minimum of 75 per cent attendance is required.

Successful candidates will receive 15 academic credits as per AICTE norms, along with a certificate authorised by the Indian Army.

Students pursuing BTech, BE, computer science, AI, data science and cyber security courses, or those who have recently completed their degree, are eligible for different projects.

There are some further conditions. Police verification will be required after a candidate is selected. The Army will provide no accommodation or travel facility. The internship does not guarantee a job in the Army.

Interested students can apply online for the project of their choice on the official AICTE portal, internship.aicte-india.org. The last date and eligibility conditions differ for each project, so applicants should read the information on the portal carefully before applying.
