Akasa Air, which describes itself as India's fastest-growing airline, has announced a major expansion of its network. The company has added new connections on key routes and increased the number of flights. This shows its continued focus on building a strong network and offering passengers more convenience, ease and choice.
Anand Srinivasan, co-founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, said: "When we started Akasa Air four years ago, we saw a great opportunity to build a meaningful airline in one of the world's fastest-growing aviation markets. Today, the reach and depth of our network are the result of carefully considered decisions, including adding flights in markets where demand is rising, strengthening the network between major economic centres and newly emerging destinations, and expanding internationally step by step."
Srinivasan added: "Our approach is not limited to adding capacity. We want to make travel more useful and rewarding through better schedules, more choice and a warm, dependable and distinctly Akasa flying experience. As we expand, our focus is on pairing disciplined growth with service excellence and building an experience-led airline that plays an important role in India's aviation growth story."
In north India, the airline is strengthening its network from the national capital and spreading to new markets. With 196 weekly flights from Delhi, it offers non-stop connectivity to 14 cities. After the expansion, Akasa Air operates one daily flight on the Delhi-Visakhapatnam route. Two daily flights to Mumbai are being added, and one daily flight each to Bengaluru and Goa. The new schedule strengthens connectivity between Delhi and metro and non-metro markets and gives passengers more options through the day.
The airline has also begun operations from Jaipur and Udaipur. Daily direct flights connect both cities to Bengaluru and Mumbai. Daily direct flights from Chandigarh to Bengaluru and Goa have further strengthened its hold in north India.
In south India, Akasa Air has significantly increased its presence, led by expansion at Bengaluru, Kochi and Kozhikode. Flights from Bengaluru have grown substantially, and the airline offers non-stop connectivity to 19 domestic destinations and three international ones: Abu Dhabi, Phuket and Jeddah. Additional flights on metro and non-metro routes have further cemented Bengaluru's place as a key hub in the airline's network.
With domestic and international expansion, including flights from Kozhikode, the company has also scaled up its operations in Kerala. The additional capacity strengthens Akasa Air's influence in south India and improves domestic and international connectivity from the region.
In east India, the airline has scaled up operations from Kolkata, taking weekly flights to 95. It offers non-stop connectivity to eight destinations and is also setting up a crew base in Kolkata, supporting the growing operations from the city. This raises Kolkata's importance as a large market for Akasa Air and lays a strong foundation for steady growth across east India.
The company continues to add flights on some of the country's busiest metro routes. The airline operates Mumbai-Delhi six times a day, along with one daily Navi Mumbai-Delhi flight, giving passengers a choice of several flights through the day. Bengaluru-Delhi operates five times a day, while the Delhi-Kolkata service runs twice a day, with morning and evening options. The added frequencies give business and leisure travellers more convenience.
Akasa Air's continuing network expansion reflects its strategy of focused growth, under which it is extending its presence step by step across India and beyond.
