On Shah Rukh Khan's birthday, Abhay Verma shared a diary entry on shooting his first scene with the actor for 'King', calling it the most beautiful day of his life.
Audiences are eagerly waiting for Abhay Verma's upcoming film 'King'. It is considered a big film in his career, and through it he is working with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. On Shah Rukh Khan's birthday, Abhay put up a special social media post describing what the "most beautiful day of life" was like for him.
Abhay has specially recorded the date of September 29 in his diary. In this handwritten entry, he wrote about the experience of shooting a scene with Shah Rukh Khan for the first time. He wrote, "Today was historic. I don't think I have ever been this happy. Today I shot a scene with Shah Sir. There was no one else there, just Sir and me. Siddharth had told me about it before I went to the set, but I could not believe it. When I reached the set I realised it was true, and I suddenly became very nervous. Then Sir came and met me by kissing me on the cheek."
During rehearsal, Abhay asked Shah Rukh whether he could put his body weight on his hand. Shah Rukh laughingly agreed. But when Abhay actually did so, Shah Rukh said, "Not now, son, during the real shoot." The two then laughed for about 15 seconds.
Then Siddharth Anand came over and asked what had happened. Shah Rukh narrated the whole episode to him, and he laughed too. Work then resumed.
Abhay wrote that during the shoot, his only thought was that he should make no mistake, so that Sir would not have to redo the scene because of him. He said, "I myself cannot believe what happened today." Praising Shah Rukh's professionalism, Abhay said, "To be honest, I have not seen an actor as professional as Shah Rukh Sir. He was unwell, yet he did not let anyone feel it. This is what truly marks a king!"
According to Abhay, after the scene was done he spoke to Shah Rukh about his diary, and the two had some fun. When the shoot ended, Abhay changed clothes and went back to the set. Shah Rukh was shooting at the time and made Abhay sit next to him. Abhay also said that Pooja Ma'am is always very affectionate towards him.
Watching Shah Rukh act was an inspiring experience of a different kind for Abhay. He wrote, "Sir made me laugh a lot afterwards. Everyone else pales before his wit. After a while I took his leave and left the set." He added, "I reached home at 12 at night and felt I should write about the day right then, because I did not want to forget some of it. This was the most beautiful day of my life so far."
Abhay also wrote that the comfortable, relaxed atmosphere Shah Rukh Sir gives everyone on set, especially the actors, explains why people love him so much and why he is a king. He will always be a king. Going to the sets of 'King' always feels like a dream, but today a very big dream of his came true.
Meanwhile, after the success of his recent film 'Operation Safed Sagar', Abhay Verma is in the news for his role in 'King'. The film, directed by Siddharth Anand, will release in cinemas on December 24.
