38-year-old labourer found dead in hut in Savner's Wadar locality
Umesh Dhanuji Mohabe was found dead in suspicious circumstances in Savner, Nagpur district, and the cause will be known after the post-mortem.
A 38-year-old labourer who was sleeping in a hut in the Wadar locality of Savner town in Nagpur district was found dead in suspicious circumstances. The matter came to light at around 4:30 pm on Wednesday, September 30, 2026. The deceased has been identified as Umesh Dhanuji Mohabe, a resident of the same locality.
According to the information available, Mohabe supported his family by working as a labourer. On Wednesday he was sleeping in his hut. When there was no movement from the hut for a long time, neighbours tried to wake him. There was no response from Mohabe.
Residents of the locality then informed social worker Hitesh Bansod. Mohabe was rushed to the government hospital in Savner, where doctors examined him and declared him dead.
Savner police reached the spot on receiving information. The police team included day officer ASI Rajesh Paunikar. Police have registered an entry of the incident and sent the body for post-mortem. The actual cause of death will become clear only after the post-mortem report is received.
A pall of gloom has settled over the Wadar locality after the incident. Residents are in shock that a labourer died like this while sleeping in his hut. Police are investigating the matter further.
