The Indian Navy and TVS Motor Company have jointly launched a special motorcycle expedition named 'Fleet to Forts'. The expedition will run for 14 days and was flagged off from Kohli Stadium in Navy Nagar, Mumbai.

A team of 25 Indian Navy members will ride TVS Ronin motorcycles for more than 1,600 km across different parts of Maharashtra. The team is led by Captain Shekhar Deshpande.

The team includes officers, sailors and Agniveers, as well as women officers, women Agniveers and women members associated with the Navy. The journey will pass through rural areas, towns and villages of Maharashtra. Its main aim is to inform young people about career opportunities in the Indian Navy.

Along the way, the riders will visit 10 historic forts linked to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Some of these forts have been inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list under the 'Maratha Military Landscapes of India' nomination. The expedition will therefore be more than a bike ride. It will bring together Maharashtra's history, heritage, courage and the message of naval service.

Another important part of the expedition is to make young people aware of the Agniveer scheme, a short-term recruitment scheme for personnel below officer rank in the armed forces. Information about it will be taken to young people in both villages and cities.

The TVS Ronin is being used for the entire expedition. The 2026 TVS Ronin was recently launched at a price of Rs 1.42 lakh to Rs 1.64 lakh, ex-showroom, Delhi. It comes with a new Base variant, along with some updates to the Mid and Top variants.

The Base variant gets dual-channel ABS as standard and comes in Sunlit Yellow and Desert Mirage colours. The Mid variant gets a Connected Cluster and a Type-C charger. The Top variant has features such as Traction Control System, a Type-C charger and a Premium Seat.

Through the expedition, the message of service to the nation, history and career opportunities for young people will be carried across Maharashtra, along with the adventurous image of the TVS Ronin.
