The four-day event with a Diwali market drew 1,368 pre-loved items, 701 of which changed hands, while 174 products sold for Rs 56,373.
Pune, November 6, 2026: Adding an environmental note to the Diwali festive mood, VK Group held the 11th edition of its Pre-Loved Eco Haat at its Pune campus from October 26 to 29, 2026. A Diwali market was also held alongside.
The event was organised for VK Group by Sustainability Initiatives (SI). The four-day programme aimed to encourage employees to spend thoughtfully, put previously used items to use again and try sustainable alternatives to routine festival shopping.
A total of 1,368 pre-loved items were collected during the event, of which 701 were exchanged. This gave the items a new life and reduced the need for fresh purchases. According to the organisers, this reflects growing participation among VK Group staff in reuse and resource conservation.
Ar. Anagha Purohit-Paranjape, trustee of Sustainability Initiatives, said the aim of the initiative was to make sustainable living part of everyday choices, especially in the festive season, when consumption and shopping rise. By encouraging people to reuse, swap and shop responsibly, the Eco Haat sought to show that celebration and environmental responsibility can go together.
There were 15 stalls in all, 13 of them run by VK Group employees. Visitors could browse a range of items including pre-loved clothes, accessories, household goods, handmade decor, jewellery, candles, festive gifts and traditional snacks. Combining the Eco Haat with the Diwali market brought sustainable shopping, creativity and employees' entrepreneurial skills together under one roof.
The Diwali market also saw good participation. A total of 174 products were sold, earning Rs 56,373. It gave employees a platform to showcase their goods and creative work, and gave colleagues a chance to support employees' own ventures through their purchases.
Through the initiative, Sustainability Initiatives sought to link festive celebration with a larger message of environmental responsibility. From giving old items a second life to backing employees' businesses, the event showed that everyone's participation and small everyday decisions can help cut waste and conserve resources.
The 11th Pre-Loved Eco Haat and Diwali market underlined the importance of reuse, mindful shopping and responsible consumption. They also showed that sustainable living can be an important part of office culture and festive celebrations.
