There is a new twist in the disputed case involving Titwala businessman Rajan Dubey and Kaushal Jha. Dubey has alleged that the police deliberately registered false cases against him and Jha. He says he will now approach the Bombay High Court against what he calls this injustice.

Dubey has also demanded that senior police officers take the entire matter seriously and that strict action be taken against officers and staff found guilty.

Dubey and his lawyer, Adv. Abhishek Palve, called a special press conference in Kalyan. There they showed some videos and gave full details to the media to show how the cases against him are false.

According to Dubey, the police questioned Kaushal Jha a few days ago during the investigation of a crime. Dubey was with Jha at the time in connection with the inauguration of his hotel.

Titwala police had said Jha had to be questioned to obtain information about other accused. Dubey told the then senior police inspector, Mukesh Dhage, that he would bring Jha to the police station himself as soon as the event ended. Dubey says permission for this was also given.

Dubey alleges that in the meantime, Thane Rural Local Crime Branch (LCB) police suddenly arrived at the spot in a car and tried to take Jha into custody by force. Dubey then asked, in a lawful manner, who these police officers were. He alleges that the police acted against him out of resentment over this.

Dubey claims that when he later reached Titwala police station, the police falsely accused him of pushing and shoving and registered a case on their own behalf. According to him, Jha, who had nothing whatsoever to do with the incident, was also implicated in it.

Dubey expressed regret that although the then senior police inspector of Titwala police station has been transferred, no proper action has been taken so far, as the false cases against him and Jha have not been withdrawn. He also alleges that Local Crime Branch personnel behaved very badly with him at the police station.

Dubey has also released a video in which he is seen calmly discussing only legal points with the police. The demand for a high-level inquiry into the whole matter and firm action against the guilty police officers and personnel is growing.

The police administration's official position on these serious allegations has not yet emerged.
