Prime Minister Narendra Modi's proposed visit to Baramati has been postponed. November 16 is now being seen as a possible new date, but no side has yet officially confirmed the revised schedule.
Yugendra Pawar, a trustee of Vidya Pratishthan, Baramati, said the Prime Minister's visit had earlier been fixed for November 3 and has now been put off. He also said he has so far received no official communication about a November 16 programme.
Modi was to inaugurate "Prerna Sthal", a building within the Vidya Pratishthan campus in Baramati. The Prime Minister's Office (PMO) had first set November 3 for the event, and preparations for the visit had begun in the city.
The PMO later informed Vidya Pratishthan and Baramati MP Supriya Sule that the proposed visit had been postponed. No reason has been given for the postponement.
November 16 is currently being considered as a possible option, but the date has not yet received final approval. The schedule and timing of the Prime Minister's visit will become clear only after an official announcement.
