Parents' checklist before admission to VIBGYOR High, Balewadi, a CBSE school in Pune
VIBGYOR High in Pune's Sus-Balewadi area is CBSE-affiliated, but the group also runs other boards and campuses, so parents should verify fees, subjects and timings with the school.
VIBGYOR High, a CBSE-affiliated school, is located in the Sus-Balewadi area of Pune. According to CBSE's current records, the school has senior secondary status and affiliation number 1130930. Its address is recorded as Sus village, behind Kirloskar Brothers corporate office, Mumbai-Bengaluru highway, Balewadi, Pune 411045. Priyadarshini Mane is named as the principal, and the school is managed by Noble Foundation.
CBSE's records give the year of establishment as 2011 and the date of first commencement as June 4, 2015. The current affiliation period runs from April 1, 2027 to March 31, 2032. This new period, beginning in April 2027, is particularly important for admissions for 2027-28.
Parents should note one thing carefully. VIBGYOR runs different boards and different campuses. The group's website carries both CBSE and CISCE information for the Balewadi campus. Facilities may be the same at campus level, but the curriculum, board examinations, subject structure and some academic details may differ by board. Parents should therefore confirm which board their child is being admitted to. The information here relates only to the CBSE branch.
According to the school's website, the Balewadi campus has modern science and computer laboratories, a library, a gym, a football ground, a skating rink, a music room, a canteen and a play area for children. It also has a sick room for ill students with trained medical staff. The school says its teaching draws on Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, Bloom's taxonomy and Kolb's experiential learning theory. It says the aim is to offer experiments, expression and a chance to improve, without emphasis on rote learning. However, this is the framework the school itself describes. How much of it is seen in everyday classrooms is the parents' real question.
The location may be convenient for families in Balewadi, Baner, Sus, Pashan, Wakad, Aundh, Mahalunge, Hinjewadi and Bavdhan, and parts of west Pune. But travel time in this area varies greatly at peak hours. Parents should therefore not go by distance in kilometres alone, but time the actual journey from home to school and back. For a full-day school, even a small increase in travel time takes up a large part of the child's week.
Parents considering Classes 11 and 12 should obtain the current subject combinations from the school independently. They should ask whether subjects such as science, commerce, humanities, mathematics, biology, physics, chemistry, accountancy, business studies, economics, computer science, informatics practices and physical education are available. The same applies to technology. The Balewadi branch page mentions computer and science laboratories but does not claim a robotics laboratory, whereas the NIBM branch page clearly lists a robotics lab. Claims made for the other campus should therefore not be applied to Balewadi. Parents should ask directly whether AI, coding and robotics are taught, from which class, and for how many hours a week.
The school's activities include Nature's Club, Greeders Club, VIBGYOR Model United Nations, a student exchange programme and VIBGYOR Viva. In the Model United Nations, students have to study, debate, negotiate and make presentations. An exchange programme does not mean the school runs an international board. The Balewadi branch is a CBSE school. On security, according to the group, its schools have extensive CCTV coverage, with more than 250 cameras across all schools together. Sufficient current information on counsellors, special educators, financial literacy and sports coaching at Balewadi was not available, and parents should verify it with the school.
On fees, VIBGYOR's enquiry system says fees vary by campus and class, and the admissions department provides detailed information. Some third-party estimates of Balewadi's fees for 2026-27 and 2027-28 are circulating, but they do not match each other well. One estimate puts the annual fee for some classes at about Rs 1.99 lakh, while another gives a much higher first-year cost for LKG. None of these figures should be taken as the school's official fee. Parents should ask for the complete fee sheet covering admission fee, annual or term fee, activity charges, transport, canteen, uniform, books, optional programmes, examination fees and one-time deposits.
The general admission process is online enquiry and registration, a campus visit, an assessment where applicable, an admission offer, submission of documents, and payment of fees to confirm the seat. VIBGYOR uses Hubble-Orion ERP for parents and students. The Balewadi page has a separate section on school timings, but a clear class-wise schedule is not shown, so parents should get it from the school. The school's results page publishes scores of 99.20 per cent for Lalit Girgaonkar and Aditi Khadilkar, 98.80 per cent for Tushar Karve, 98.60 per cent for Pranav Dagwade, 98.40 per cent for Shaman Rai and Aditya Mazumdar, and 98.20 per cent for Rayrth Rane. These are individual results and should not be used to decide the school's overall ranking. This information was checked in October 2026.
