A 33-year-old woman and her six-year-old son died in Thergaon in Pimpri-Chinchwad, leaving residents grief-stricken and the area shaken. Police have recovered a note of seven to eight pages written by the woman.

The woman has been identified as Ekta Manoj Bhangad (33). The incident took place around 6.30 pm on Friday, October 30, at Signature Park society near Dange Chowk in Thergaon. Ekta and her six-year-old son were found fallen from the 18th floor of the building.

Both were taken to hospital soon after the incident was reported, but doctors declared them dead there. A pall of gloom has spread over the society and the surrounding area.

The note, written by Ekta, surfaced during the investigation. It is said to mention her health and personal circumstances. According to its contents, Ekta had suffered from a spinal ailment for several years. She had been treated at various hospitals, but the ailment was never precisely diagnosed. The preliminary inquiry has found that she had been left mentally exhausted as a result.

The note is also said to express her feelings about her son's future. It also refers to her husband, saying that after her death he should remarry and start a new life. Many people were shocked when this became known.

Ekta's husband, Manoj, works at an IT company in Yerawada. He was at work when the incident happened.

Police have inspected the spot and examined CCTV footage from the area. According to preliminary information, the mother and son had both gone up to the 18th floor in the lift. Police are investigating what exactly happened afterwards.

A case has been registered and Wakad police are investigating further. The contents of the note, Ekta's treatment history and the circumstances before the incident are being verified. Police say the meaning of the note and the circumstances behind it must be examined independently, so no final conclusion can be drawn from preliminary information alone.

Although the spinal ailment has emerged as the primary reason, all the causes behind the incident have not yet been established. The investigation by police should make the circumstances behind the tragedy clearer.
