Police have cleared the Aura India Tour 2026 show at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium after organisers submitted a revised security plan.
Diljit Dosanjh's Delhi concert on October 30 is expected to be held under heavy security. Organisers are preparing to deploy up to 2,000 private guards at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium. A large turnout of fans is expected at the Aura India Tour 2026 show, so separate traffic and parking arrangements are also being made.
Police permission had earlier been held up over security concerns and the additional law-and-order requirements of the festive season. The organisers then held talks with Delhi Police and submitted a new security plan. The permission was reconsidered and approved.
Police have recommended deploying 1,500 to 2,000 private security personnel. The organisers had initially proposed only 400 guards, so the police recommendation is considerably higher. The larger deployment is meant to manage crowds inside and around the stadium and to strengthen security.
Traffic arrangements are also being made to reduce congestion around the venue before and after the concert. Vehicle movement may be restricted within about 500 to 700 metres of the stadium. A pedestrian-only zone is also planned to manage the movement of crowds.
The organisers have been asked to arrange additional parking. They have also been asked to coordinate with cab aggregators and navigation platforms. This would improve pick-up and drop arrangements and allow concertgoers to be directed to designated entry points.
The last-mile arrangements will be crucial for fans reaching the stadium, especially when the largest numbers arrive and leave. Concertgoers may need to allow extra time for travel. They will also have to follow the traffic advisory to be issued closer to the event.
The Delhi show will open the India leg of Dosanjh's Aura India Tour 2026. According to the announced schedule, the shows are on October 30 in Delhi, November 15 in Indore, November 21 in Ahmedabad, November 27 in Mumbai, November 29 in Bengaluru and December 5 in Lucknow. Dates for Chandigarh and Kolkata are yet to be announced.
Given the large security deployment and the proposed traffic restrictions, the organisers and the administration will have to work together to manage the crowd at the Delhi concert.
