The Bosch CrispMax Air Fryer Series 6 is not merely a machine for making French fries. Samosas, cutlets, chicken and everyday breakfast items can all be prepared in it. It is priced at Rs 10,099 and has a capacity of 7.2 litres. The reviewer used it over the past few months to make everything from healthy meals to spicy snacks. The question now is whether it is worth buying at this price.

The design is the first thing that stands out. A matt black finish and touch controls on the front give it a clean, modern look. It looks premium without being overly flashy.

The 7.2-litre basket is large enough for a small family. The reviewer particularly liked the transparent window, which has a light inside. It lets the cook keep an eye on the food as it cooks, without pulling the basket out repeatedly.

On cooking, the CrispMax has an 1,800-watt heating system and 360-degree air circulation. The temperature can be adjusted from 40 degrees Celsius to 200 degrees Celsius, so different kinds of food can be prepared in it.

During testing, frozen fries turned crisp in about 20 minutes. Cutlets and reheated samosas also turned out well. The air fryer is thus not limited to making French fries or heating frozen snacks.

Bosch supplies a recipe book with it, which includes several Indian dishes. These include samosa, sabudana vada, poha cutlet, methi mathri, chhole tikki, kachori and Chicken 65. It is useful for those who want to try something beyond standard air fryer recipes.

Preset cooking modes remove the bother of setting the temperature and timer each time. The user simply picks the required setting and starts. The shake reminder is also a useful feature. During cooking, it beeps to remind the user to shake or turn the food. This helps especially with fries and cutlets, which cook more evenly when shaken midway.

The CrispMax does have shortcomings. The basket feels somewhat heavy, which makes shaking the food midway a little awkward. The touch controls are quite sensitive, and the fan is clearly audible at higher temperatures.

At this price, the absence of a grill rack and baking tin is disappointing. There is also no app control, though not everyone may need it.

Overall, the Bosch CrispMax Air Fryer Series 6 does the basics well. It has ample room for everyday cooking, works well with snacks and frozen food, and makes reheating leftovers easy. The viewing window and the shake reminder are not mere specification-sheet decoration but genuinely useful features.

At Rs 10,099, it is by no means a budget option. Still, for someone who wants a large air fryer from a well-known brand and will use it regularly, the CrispMax can be considered. The buyer should note that some useful accessories are not in the box. The review gives it a rating of 8 out of 10.
