Six suspicious transactions totalling Rs 19,015 were made from the account of Aishwarya Thackeray on the night of October 30, and police say all were carried out from abroad.

Cyber fraudsters are now reaching everyone. The latest case involves Aishwarya Thackeray, grandson of the late Shiv Sena chief Balasaheb Thackeray and son of Jaidev and Smita Thackeray. Someone sitting abroad withdrew money from his bank account six times in succession.

According to the information available, six suspicious transactions took place in Aishwarya Thackeray's bank account one after another on the night of October 30. A total of Rs 19,015 was debited from the account in these six transactions. Police investigation has revealed one key point: all of the transactions were made from abroad.

As soon as he learnt that money had been deducted from his account, Aishwarya Thackeray went to the police and lodged a complaint. A case has been registered at Oshiwara police station on his complaint. Police are now closely examining whether card cloning, theft of account details or some other method was used to make the transactions.

Aishwarya Thackeray made his Bollywood debut with the film 'Nishaanchi', directed by Anurag Kashyap. He is in the news these days because of this cyber fraud.

Another major incident of the kind has been reported from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. After Mumbai, a large cyber fraud case has come to light there too. Cyber fraudsters had targeted the bank account of Dilipkumar Bishwanath Ghosh, a 74-year-old senior citizen living in the Satara area of the city. The fraudsters gained "remote access" to his mobile phone and made large transactions from his bank accounts as well as his credit card.

All this happened on the night of October 14, between about 8 pm and 11.50 pm. Ghosh neither shared any OTP nor entered his details through any link, yet Rs 7,30,463 was transferred out of his account. The case has caused a stir in Sambhajinagar. The cyber police are trying to get to the bottom of the matter.

Such incidents have created fear among people and raised questions about cyber security. Cases are now increasing in which money disappears from accounts even though no OTP is given and no link is opened.
