Sidco police have registered a case against four men accused of attacking a 23-year-old with a sharp object and fists over money invested in a hotel partnership.

A dispute over Rs 18 lakh invested in a hotel partnership allegedly ended in a violent assault in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. Four men are accused of attacking a young man with a sharp object, injuring his nose, and of beating him with kicks and punches. He was seriously injured.

The incident took place on October 28 at around 8.30 pm in the Connaught Place area of N-5 Sidco. A case has been registered at Sidco police station against Prashant Rathod, Prathamesh, Sagar and Shivraj Idhate, all accused of assault.

The complainant is Dinesh Sanjaysing Jadhav, 23, who lives in the Garkheda area. The police registered the case on his complaint.

According to the complaint, Dinesh Jadhav and Prashant Rathod had started a hotel together. Prashant later decided to leave the partnership and asked for his Rs 18 lakh back. The two had been quarrelling over this for many days.

On the night of October 28, Dinesh had gone to the hotel to pick up a mobile charger. He came out and reached his two-wheeler, when Prashant again demanded the partnership money from him.

The complaint says Prashant then struck Dinesh on the nose with a sharp object he was holding, fracturing the nose. At the same time, Prathamesh, Sagar and Shivraj Idhate also kicked and punched Dinesh, the complaint states.

The complaint adds that all four abused Dinesh and threatened to kill him. According to the complaint, the dispute over the return of the money turned into an assault and threats outside the hotel that night.

Dinesh, injured in the attack, is being treated in hospital. The case is registered at Sidco police station. The allegations against the four men named in the complaint remain allegations.
