NCP (Sharad Pawar) president Sharad Pawar is improving and may be discharged from Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital around 11 am on Saturday, his daughter Supriya Sule said.
Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar) president Sharad Pawar is recovering and is expected to be discharged from Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday morning. His daughter and Lok Sabha member Supriya Sule shared the information on Friday.
According to Sule, Pawar may be discharged at around 11 am on Saturday, November 7.
Sule also said several senior leaders had phoned to ask after her father's health. They include Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee. Leaders of different parties are in touch with the family, so the political circles are watching news of Pawar's health closely.
Pawar, 85, was being treated for breathlessness and a chest infection. He was first admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on November 2. After being discharged from there on November 4, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment. If he is discharged on Saturday, Pawar will return home after treatment at two hospitals, in Pune and Mumbai.
Earlier, Sule had said that some medical tests were under way for Pawar and that all his health parameters were stable.
On Friday, November 6, Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani also visited the hospital and met Pawar.
On Thursday, Nationalist Congress Party leader Praful Patel met Pawar at Breach Candy Hospital and asked after his health. After leaving the hospital, Patel said, "I had gone to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for a courtesy visit to the respected Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb and asked about his health."
On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also spoke to Pawar by phone and asked after his well-being. Vitthal Maniyar, a family friend and close associate of Pawar, confirmed the call to reporters outside the hospital. Maniyar said Modi told Pawar warmly to give priority to his health and get adequate rest.
