Satej Patil said 12 Mahayuti directors of the Gokul union have reached Udaipur via Goa and Surat, after the state government appointed five directors to the body.

The state government has appointed five directors to the Gokul union, causing considerable stir. The Mahayuti suffered a major setback in the Gokul election, and it was said that the alliance's internal factionalism hurt it badly. The matter has reached the court, but before that a major decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting. These five nominated members have also been given the right to vote on cooperative institutions. Satej Patil alleged that this is the government's ploy to take control of the Gokul union. Minister Hasan Mushrif strongly criticised the allegations made by opponents.

Of Gokul's 25 seats, the Mahayuti won 12 and Satej Patil's panel won 13. The quorum of 14 needed for the election of the chairperson could not be met, so the election could not be held. To guard against betrayal, the Mahayuti and the like-minded panel sent their 12 directors away on a trip.

It had been said that the 12 Mahayuti directors were in Alibag. Satej Patil is in Kolhapur, but he said he is keeping a close watch on every development and has full information on where the directors are.

In a recent interview, Satej Patil said the 12 Mahayuti directors have reached Udaipur via Goa and Surat. According to him, it was being said that the directors had gone to Alibag, but they are at the Marriott hotel in Udaipur. He said he also knows all the room numbers. All of them are on the first floor, and their rooms start from number 130. Patil also said that everyone has been made to sign affidavits.
