Panjabrao Dakh expects scattered or thunderstorm rain in several districts from November 1 to 4, as a Bay of Bengal system may turn into a cyclone.

A low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal could turn into a cyclonic storm within the next 24 hours. According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the storm could reach the Andhra Pradesh coast by the evening of November 2. Heavy rain and strong winds have been forecast for coastal areas because of the cyclone.

Meanwhile, weather observer Panjabrao Dakh has given his forecast for rain in Maharashtra. According to him, some parts of the state could see unseasonal rain, or rain due to local weather, between November 1 and 4, 2026. On November 1, 2, 3 and 4, rain could fall in scattered form, or arrive with squalls because of local conditions. Dakh said rain would fall in many places in Maharashtra in early November.

In western Maharashtra, thunder showers are more likely in Pune district. Rain is also forecast for the Ghatmatha area of Pune. Thunder showers are possible in Kolhapur district and its Ghatmatha region. Satara and Sangli districts also have a chance of rain. Solapur district is likely to stay dry.

In Vidarbha, rain with thunder has been forecast for Bhandara, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Gondia, Nagpur and Yavatmal districts. In Marathwada, thunder showers are expected in Latur and Dharashiv districts as well.

Light rain fell in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city and surrounding areas, bringing some respite from the heat. This monsoon, rain fell for the first few days, but the rest of the season stayed dry. People are therefore waiting for rain like the chatak bird. The city remained cloudy this afternoon with light rain, raising hopes of more.

Rain also made an appearance in Ashti in Beed district. Clouds gathered yesterday evening and rain began shortly afterwards. The weather there turned cooler and people got some relief. Even so, people across Beed district, farmers included, are still waiting for heavy rain. Farmers are looking to the sky, asking when it will fall.
