The Centre's pension department is running its fifth Digital Life Certificate campaign in 2,000 cities and districts, letting pensioners submit certificates from home through the Jeevan Pramaan app.

Every state government pensioner and family pensioner must submit a life certificate each November to keep receiving the pension the following year. The process is now set to become easier. The Centre's Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare (DOPPW) is running the fifth nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign from November 1 to 30, 2026, in 2,000 cities and districts across the country.

The campaign is being described as the largest Digital Life Certificate campaign so far. Using the Centre's Jeevan Pramaan app, senior pensioners can submit the certificate from home on their mobile phones. They do not need to visit a bank or a treasury office.

Preparations for the campaign were reviewed at the Contribution and Accounts Office in Bandra. Deepak Gupta, Under Secretary in the Department of Pension and Pensioners' Welfare, paid a goodwill visit to the Payroll and Accounts Office in Mumbai, where he spoke to officials of the directorate, accounts and treasury. Payroll and Accounts Officer Pragati Dhanawade and other senior officials took part in the discussion, and all of them discussed the campaign's planning in detail.

During the visit, Gupta also inspected the office's pension branch and pension help desk. A live demonstration was shown to the senior pensioners present, explaining how the Jeevan Pramaan system and face authentication can generate a life certificate in a few minutes.

Greater use of technology is necessary to spare pensioners the trouble of standing in queues. Payroll and Accounts Officer Pragati Dhanawade said that as many pensioners and family pensioners as possible should take advantage of the digital campaign. She appealed to everyone to submit their life certificates on time through the Jeevan Pramaan portal.

During the campaign, which runs through November, pensioners can submit the certificate from home using the Jeevan Pramaan app on their mobile phones, without making rounds of a bank or treasury office. As the certificate must be submitted every November to keep the pension going, the campaign dates of November 1 to 30, 2026, are worth remembering.
