Deputy CM Shinde visits Sharad Pawar at Breach Candy Hospital, enquires about his health

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde visited Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Friday. There he met Nationalist Congress Party (NCP SP) chief Sharad Pawar and enquired about his health.

Shinde shared details of the visit in a post on the social media platform X. He wrote that he had gone in person to see how Pawar was doing and spoke to the hospital's doctors about his ongoing treatment. According to Shinde, he took complete information on the treatment from the doctors.

The Deputy Chief Minister wished Pawar a quick and full recovery. He expressed hope that Pawar would soon regain his health and return to public service.

Legislative Council Deputy Chairperson Sachin Ahir and Rajya Sabha member Milind Deora were also present with Shinde during the visit.

Sharad Pawar, 85, is being treated for breathlessness and a chest infection. He was first admitted to Ruby Hall Clinic in Pune on November 2. After being discharged from there on November 4, he was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for further treatment.

Leaders of different parties have shown concern over Pawar's health. NCP (SP) leader Supriya Sule said on Friday that several leaders, including Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and Trinamool Congress (TMC) chief Mamata Banerjee, had phoned to ask after Pawar's health.

Adani Group chairman Gautam Adani also went to the hospital on Friday, November 6, and met NCP (SP) chief Sharad Pawar.

Supriya Sule had earlier said, speaking about her father's health, that Pawar's medical tests were under way and all his health parameters were stable.

A day earlier, on Thursday, NCP leader Praful Patel also met Pawar at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai and enquired about his health. After returning from the hospital, Patel said, "I had gone to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai for a courtesy call on respected Shri Sharad Pawar Saheb and asked about his health."
