The Mumbai division of Central Railway has taken up work to shift and dismantle towers between Vasind and Atgaon. A special traffic and power block will be taken for this on three nights: October 22-23, October 23-24 and October 24-25.

The block will be in force each night from 2.10 am to 3.55 am on the up and down North-East (NE) lines. The 110 kV high-tension towers currently fall within the alignment of the proposed third railway line between Kalyan and Kasara. The work of shifting and dismantling these towers will be done during the block.

Central Railway said in a press release issued on Thursday that the blocks are necessary for the maintenance and safety of infrastructure.

Because of the block, the CSMT-Kasara local leaving Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CSMT) at 12.08 am will run only up to Titwala station and will be terminated there. Passengers heading towards Kasara may have to make other arrangements for the rest of their journey.

Several long-distance mail and express trains will be held at different stations during the block. Some trains may arrive up to 1 hour 50 minutes late.

The CSMT-Nagpur Special (02139) will be held at Khadavli from 2 am to 3.55 am. The Ballia-Dadar Express (11044) and the Gorakhpur-Dadar Express (11048) will be held at Atgaon from 2.10 am to 3.55 am and are expected to arrive 1 hour 50 minutes late.

The Shalimar-LTT Express (12102) will be held at Kharadi from 2.10 am to 3.50 am and will also arrive 1 hour 50 minutes late. The Shalimar-LTT Express (18030) will be held at Igatpuri from 1.35 am to 3.10 am and will arrive 1 hour 45 minutes late. The Howrah-CSMT Express (12810) will be held at Igatpuri from 1.45 am to 3.15 am and will arrive 1 hour 35 minutes late.

Central Railway said some trains in the Bhusawal division will also be regulated. These include the Alipurduar-Panvel Amrit Bharat Express (11032), Nagpur-Madgaon Express (11203), Sainagar Shirdi-Dadar Express (12132), Gorakhpur-LTT Express (20104) and Balharshah-CSMT Express (11002).

The Shalimar-LTT Express (12152), Pratapgarh-LTT Express (12174), Raxaul-LTT Express (12545), Nagpur-CSMT Special (02140), Banaras-LTT Special (01052), Danapur-LTT Special (01144) and Saharsa-LTT Special (05585) will also be regulated.

The railway administration said the Gaya-LTT Express (22358), Amravati-CSMT Express (12112), CSMT-Gondia Express (12106) and Hazrat Nizamuddin-Ernakulam Express (12618) may also be delayed because of congestion of trains.

Other mail, express and passenger trains that will run late will be announced later. Depending on operational needs, those trains may be regulated or stopped midway.
