Youth seriously injured in alleged spade attack over old dispute in Nagpur's Ganeshpeth
A man was allegedly attacked with a spade near Cotton Market in Nagpur over an old dispute; police have arrested the accused and registered an attempt-to-murder case.
A young man was seriously injured after he was allegedly attacked with a spade over an old dispute in the Ganeshpeth police station area of Nagpur. The incident took place late at night near Gurukrupa Amar Bhojnalaya, close to Cotton Market.
According to the complaint, the injured man is Jammil Syed Shafi Syed. He was sleeping outside the eatery when the accused, Sumit alias Golu Tayde, arrived and allegedly struck him with a spade.
The incident is said to have occurred between about 2 am and 3 am. Both men sell chivda on trains, and a dispute is said to have existed between them earlier. Both do the same work and know each other.
Jammil suffered serious injuries to his head and left hand in the alleged attack. He was taken for treatment after the assault.
On the complaint of Saurabh Yadav, Ganeshpeth police have registered a case under the relevant sections pertaining to attempt to murder. Police have arrested the accused, Sumit alias Golu Tayde.
Ganeshpeth police are investigating the case further.
